I am so excited to welcome you to our newly updated Set Apart Motherhood website! No matter where you are at in your motherhood journey, my desire is that you will be refreshed, inspired, and strengthened at a soul-level through the truth-based articles and resources you’ll find here.
Our culture has its own version of what modern motherhood is (usually steeped in chaos and exhaustion) but God has His own pattern for motherhood that is beautiful, fulfilling, joyful, and life-giving. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be challenges along the way, but I have learned that when I apply His unfailing truth to every motherhood struggle I face, victory and strength is possible, even in my most difficult mothering moments!
A number of years ago I took some time to study a few of the key things that God says about motherhood in His Word and was deeply encouraged by what I found. I’d like to take a moment to share them with you here:
What God says about children and motherhood
1) Children are meant to bring strength into our lives
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.
Psalm 127:4
2) Children are a reward and gift from God
Behold, children are a gift of the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Psalm 127:3
3) God gently and tenderly cares for mothers of young children
He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
Isaiah 40:11
4) Children are precious to Him
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of
such is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 19:14
5) God intends to make us into happy mothers
He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children.
Psalm 113:9
6) A Christ-centered mother is strong and joyful
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
Proverbs 31:25
These amazing promises are not merely meant to be nice-sounding words on a page. They can be our reality right now in Christ. I encourage you to stand upon these promises and ask Him to make them a reality in your life today, as you abide in Him.
Remember, what God calls us to, He equips us for.
Thank you again for taking time to browse this new website. I pray that God will personally speak to your heart though what you experience while you are here.
Know that I am cheering you on in your set apart motherhood journey!
