“I’m grateful that God blessed Dennis and I with six souls to guide, shape, and point to Him. Leslie expertly does the same for the reader, guiding us to He Who controls all as we face the challenges and trials on this journey called motherhood.”

“
I just finished reading Set Apart Motherhood! As a mom of 9, having read dozens of books on parenting and motherhood, I have to say that this book is not just a repeat of what is already out there. It is not only full of practical wisdom, but gives us moms a vision for supernatural parenting. Addressing topics on prayer, attitudes, relationship-building, worry, and much more, Leslie offers encouragement for not just surviving motherhood but thriving and allowing the crazy moments to sharpen and strengthen our relationship with the Lord. While convicting, it gives lots of practical examples on how to cultivate God-honoring habits in your own family and home. I will be highly recommending this book to all the moms I know and giving it as gifts as well. Thank you for writing about often-overlooked topics that are vital to creating a God-centered atmosphere in our hearts and in our homes.

I am a first-time mom with a 7-month-old baby. I’ve heard many women talking (or writing) about how difficult and exhausting it is to have little ones, but Leslie Ludy’s book Set Apart Motherhood provided a refreshing change of perspective. She is encouraging and down-to-earth; she doesn’t downplay the challenges of motherhood but points out that in Christ we have the strength to live with dignity and grace as young moms. As we seek Him, He grants to us all the wisdom that we need to handle both practical and spiritual challenges. It was uplifting to be told that exhaustion and chaos do not have to be the norm for a young family.
It was nice to have a vision for Godly mothering given in a gentle and graceful way. Leslie gives many suggestions that may or may not be applicable to each situation, but she isn’t overbearing and encourages moms to seek the Lord and ask what He would have them to implement in their homes. I’ll be keeping this book around for reference as my little one grows.

Recommend to all mothers no matter how many years you have been mothering. Easy to read and very Christ-Centered.

Many times as a mother we desire to cave into the self-focused, I deserve it, mindset, instead of cherishing the gift(s) which with God has so richly blessed us. We desire to be grateful for our kids, but sometimes the day to day challenges overwhelms our good intentions. Leslie’s book, Set-Apart Motherhood, encourages us to not settle for mediocrity in our role as mothers and to press on in our personal spiritual lives towards God’s best for our family. With Biblical Scripture, funny stories and step by step suggestions, Leslie explains not just why we should be set-apart mothers but also how to begin, or continue, the journey.

Even after being blessed with 6 children spread out over the past 22 years, I am always eager to read books that encourage and challenge me as a mother. The title of this one was enough to draw me in. I desire to reflect joy and beauty in my parenting and family. I love the fresh reminders within the pages of this book to allow the Lord to strengthen me through this journey of parenting even and especially through the hard seasons. It is filled with many honest, touching, and funny stories that I could relate to and the book contains excellent challenges and tips for how to not only remain focused on raising up these precious little ones for His glory, but to relish the joy that they bring into our lives on a daily basis…
It would make a great tool for your personal journey of motherhood or to work through in a small group setting with other like-minded moms craving the concept of set-apart motherhood.

Leslie Ludy never fails to inspire, challenge, and encourage me! I was thrilled to read her latest book release entitled Set-Apart Motherhood. This book truly captures the beauty of godly motherhood, a rarity even among the host of parenting books out there.
Set Apart Motherhood is a valuable tool for equipping mothers to raise little ones into warriors for Christ. Although I have no husband and children yet, I gleaned from it many significant treasures, both to apply to my life now and to save for my future family. Just a note for readers: Leslie writes from her current stage of life with four young children. I believe any mother at any stage (any woman, really!) would benefit from this book, but it is geared more toward moms raising younger children. However, even singles like me, expectant mothers, grandmothers, nannies, and women’s ministry leaders would learn and be inspired by Leslie’s writing. The chapters on prayer and fearlessness are especially applicable to everyone.
Set Apart Motherhood is a book that you will finish reading and want to go back through again to catch all the richness. I highly recommend reading the book and exploring the website www.setapartmotherhood.com. Thank you, Leslie, for another truth-filled labor of love from your heart!

Set-Apart Motherhood is very practical and yet at the same time so encouraging and convicting. I love the scripture references and verses throughout the book and how they so aptly apply to my life as mom. The questions at the end of each chapter were an excellent opportunity for me to dig deeper, to ask myself questions to challenge and grow me. As I am new on this road of motherhood, it was so timely for me to read this book. It is a book that I can see myself coming back to many times in the coming years … This book would be an excellent encouragement to mothers in any walks of life. No doubt it would make an excellent baby shower gift!

This book encouraged me so much! I started reading it, expecting it to be full of practical tips on how to organize the day or teach your child, but was surprised (pleasantly) to find that the main point is: before you can lead your children to God, you need to focus your own heart on Him and spend time with Him. That being said, there are a lot of good ideas on raising children, but the focus is on keeping God first and delighting in Him as you work with your kids. It was a great reminder for my practical, list-oriented nature.
I also appreciate the emphasis that you’re not raising boys and girls, but future men and women, who need to see examples of godly manhood and womanhood. It’s not enough to teach obedience or respect, but how to be a true man or woman.
